How does one handle resource files (.rc etc) with MinGW? Or perhaps the
more pertinent question is; where do I get the afxres.h header required
to compile windows resource files? I am using MinGW 3.1.0-1 on Windows
2000 (SP4). I suspect that I should download the platform SDK?
But getting concise information on M$'s website is not always that
easy. The only platform SDKs available for download appear to be the
.NET platform SDKs.

afxres.h is NOT required to compile Windows resources. You should be able to
safely remove that particular include directive without harming the resource
