Don't mix and match pieces of different releases.
That's likely to fail with anyone's tools, not just gcc.
The release notes for 3.4 tell you what else you
need--look for the parts marked with an asterisk ('*').
If you keep all these new files in their own directory,
then probably things will fail gracefully with a useful
message in case you're missing something.
I think the wiki has a good discussion of this, but I
can't seem to access it right now.
