I am new to MinGW and to programming in general, so please bear with me. I
recently installed MinGW 3.1.0-1, along with Visual-MinGW 0.53a. I was able
to compile and run a fairly simple c program that I obtained online, however
I have been unable to compile even the most simple c++ program. I have selected
c++ as the language in Visual-MinGW, but I get a number of errors, including
'parse errors', 'syntax errors', and statements that the iostream include file
can't be found. I tried moving the include files from the c++ directory into
the include directory, but was then overwhelmed by hundreds of lines of errors
of various sorts. Obviously I am doing something very wrong, or have something
set up very wrong. ANy suggestions? Again, c programs compile without errors.
The problem is with c++. Thanks.
