Mingw Packages Repository is a project to provide and maintain
Minimalist GNU-Windows32 (Mingw, i.e. software which depend only on
vendor-supplied libraries for Win32, but is built using GCC and other
GNU tools) ports of important software, primarily libraries. All
ports provided in the form of easy-to-install packages, which contain
everything needed to use, develop and rebuild subject software (except
sources). One of the primary goal of the project is to achieve easy
installability and upgradability, without sacrificing use control of
the system. In most cases, installing package as easy as unzipping it
into your mingw directory - and after that, you're immediately able to
run or build software which depends on the package (see links below
for more detailed installation instructions).
As of April, 2001, Mingwrep offers 12 following packages:
Mingwrep project page is http://sourceforge.net/projects/mingwrep/ .
From it, you can browse information (version, short description,
dependencies, contents, etc.) of a package, download packages, and
report bugs. For background information on project aims and
specifications (including detailed packaging conventions
and installation instructions), see http://mingwrep.sourceforge.net .
Current Mingwrep maintainers are Paul Sokolovsky and Stefan Jahn.
Anyone is welcome to contribute to Mingwrep, by providing packages
adhering to Mingwrep conventions.
