Let me rephrase it: I'd prefer if no one was still using an antiquated
kludge, such a mingw-get-inst-<anything>.exe, today; too many of those
who do decline the choice to update the catalogue, and end up with a
hopelessly out of date installation, as a result.

Yes; a near release-ready snapshot which is destined to become...

...this, just as soon as I can get a few loose ends tied up. With that
in mind, I'd like to see as many (especially newbies) as possible using
it, and offering feed back, so that I can make the imminent release as
newbie friendly as I can.
