I'm trying to use the GDB 6.3 Snapshot.
The release notes at
"For Win98/WinME users you may need to get the psapi.dll file from
Ok, where is that psapi.dll for Win98/ME? The one at
Seems to be for WinNT only. I'm using Win98 SE here, and already have
psapi.dll on my windows\system. I don't know where it came from, but the
version says v 5.00.1641.1.
If I try to run the gdb 6.3 snapshot, I get an error dialog saying that
PSAPI.DLL needs a symbol not found in NTDLL.DLL:
NtAllocateVirtualMemory. I tried then with the psapi.dll I found in MS'
site (v 4.00), and I get the same error. Then I searched for some
different psapi.dll's spread across my Program Files folder, each with a
different version. All of them gave me the same errors (some give
different missing symbols).
So, is there any Win9x/ME user runing the GDB 6.3 snapshot? If so,
what's the version of NTDLL.DLL and PSAPI.DLL your system have?

Ntdll.dll 4.10.1998 psapi.dll 4.0
I use Windows98 SE and gdb snapshot seems to work fine
I say seems I haven't really had time test it ,running to breakpoint ,
stepping , etc,. I also downloaded the psapi.dll
this one for xp sp2. I did not use it however (deleted it) I always try the
things out of the box to be sure and the snapshot at least the shell
runs and will start a target exec one I compiled for it to
work on.Did the snapshot start or error on start up? Btw sorry for the
lateness of this reply been very busy.
