Can you say "why" you need to rebuild Mingw? Imho, if you don't have to rebuild, then
you shouldn't. Why not simply download another copy of the Mingw distribution (2.0.0)
archive/install and use it?
Umm...not too proficient at this...I believe you need to download and install the Mingw-
2.0.0 distribution. Once you've done that, you need to download the source for Mingw.
Once you have the source downloaded (Mingw), all you need to do is cd to the top of your
directory (the one with the Mingw source code in it) and run "make".
If you are trying to build gcc, the same applies with one exception, you download the gcc
source code (instead of the Mingw source code) and then, from the top level of your source
directory (the one that has gcc in it) you type "make".
Mingw and gcc are not the same thing.
I am fairly certain that the descriptions above are rather simplistic, but it seems to work.
Now, if you want to build Msys, that is a different topic.
