am not sure whether this is compiler relevant or just a general win32
in some places the winapi doc would state that some members of some
structures on winnt cannot be expected to be aligned to DWORD.
thus one should declare and use UNALIGNED specifier...
what is this whole thing?!
and indeed wold it be possible to have the following (ie memory
allocation to an unaligned pointer):
//presuming that malloc is mapped to winapi memory allocation which
does not align...
