Hello, I am actually porting a complex Linux application to windows using MinGW+MSYS. I would like to know if you would know a windows IDE which is "mingw compliant", so I can stop using notepad to edit source code . I want to IDE to be capable of : - Syntax coloring and code autocomplete - Full Debuging applications compiled with MinGW (with breakpoints .) "a la gdb". - NOT using an internal compiling process. I just want to be able to tell the IDE to do a "make" on my project when I click on the "build"button, as if I was typing "make" in my MSYS console. The reason of this is that I still want to be able to compile the app out of the compiler (as I maintain makefiles). As you see, I absolutely will not use integrated or complex compiling capabilities of the IDE, but I want it to integrate completely in my MinGW+MSYS compiling environnement to edit and debug applications . Thanks for your suggestions ! Guillaume |

Hi, I use Eclipse on Linux (haven't used it on windows in a while), and it's pretty flexible when it comes to specifying the desired tool-chain. You would generally edit the properties of your CDT project. Now, using Eclipse *after* having used (and being comfortable with) Visual Studio is a headache, but there is plenty of documentation available to help you if you get stuck. And I would be glad to answer any further questions. Try: http://www.eclipse.org http://help.eclipse.org/help33/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.cdt.doc.user/reference/cdt_u_prop_build_toolchain.htm Regards, Rino Farina rin...@gm... Quoting Guillaume BRAUX <gui...@gm...>: > > As you see, I absolutely will not use integrated or complex compiling > capabilities of the IDE, but I want it to integrate completely in my > MinGW+MSYS compiling environnement to edit and debug applications > See the announcement about Source Navigator here https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=915861. Source Navigator is more than an IDE it parses the code giving you reference data of the source. Earnie |
