Thanks all for your polite help in finding the binaries.
In case the webmaster at
would like to help people like me, here's where I went wrong.
Various links that I found pointed me to that page OK, but when I got
there I read down to "GCC 2.95.2 Release information" and clicked on the
link "GCC 2.95.2", which took me back to the GCC home page, where the
sources are !:-)
With help from your replies to my request, I read the rest of the sentence
and clicked on
2. Mingw32 (Nov 7, 1999)
and found what I needed. But I had not seen anything in all my reading
that would help me decide whether to get Cygnus Cygwin B20 (Nov 7, 1999)
or Mingw32 or AT&T UWIN v2.0 (Nov 8, 1999).
I would have been helped if there had been no link from the GCC 2.95.2
under the heading back to the home page to distract me, and if there had
been a few sentences to help me decide which FTP site to go to, Cygnus,
Mingw32 or AT&T Uwin. (I still don't know what Uwin is, but I'll go there
now and fine out!)
These suggestions submitted with the hope that they can save you all
answering questions from people like me. Thanks for your efforts!
