Most C++ compilers have full support for multithreading in runtime (but
you still need to use platform-specific API). VB6 is very limited in
this respect (which leads to ugly performance issues in enterprise
applications written in VB6); VB.NET is much better here.
Another thing is that VB6 merely supports only object-based programming,
while C++ fully supports object-oriented programming as well as generic
programming (latter one is something beyond imagination of most VB
And the last thing, indirectly comming from support for OOP in C++ is
much better source code organization, which usually results in better
code manageability (if used properly). I have yet to see well-organized
project written in VB ... or actually I do not want to see any. I saw
them too much in the past.
