I suggest subscribing to the automake, autoconf and libtool lists.
Lurk a bit there, there are some interesting conversations going on
But for the bulk of knowledge required, I definitely suggest reading
the Autobook. Cover to cover.
There is also a dowloadable version of the book, if you dont want to
stay online 24/7 while reading the captivating content :)
Then there is only one more thing.. do it :) Play around with pet
projects and small demo projects, to get used to the tools.
