Interestingly enough, I just re-ran the steps I outlined and this time it matches your output. As I mentioned to Chuck a while back, running under MSYS and building out-of-tree, I had to make a minor change to Makefile.comm.in (patch attached). Given that Cesar has added a '-mintty' option to msys.bat, I'm going to take a look at creating a msys-mintty.xml manifest. I'll fire it off to this list first before committing it for you or Chuck to give it the once over though, since I'm still figuring out the semantics of these files. Cheers!
