[Mingw-users] How to deal with older versions of automake (< 1.11)

Hi all,

can you say how do you deal with packages which require automake <
1.11 (the version actually shipped with MSYS)?

Are there old versions of automake for MinGW or the recommended way to
"port" a package to MinGW would be to convert the autogen.sh scripts
to automake 1.11?

In the latter case, can you give some short indication, I mean what's
involved in the conversion process?
