Category: mingw runtime >Group: Known Feature >Status: Closed >Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mike Frysinger (vapier) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: mingw-runtime-3.18 fails to install in parallel Initial Comment: trying to do something like `make install DESTDIR=$PWD/foo -j` usually fails as the makefile tries to install mingwm10.dll before the target directories have even been created simple fix is to update the dependencies in the Makefile.in: -install_dlls_host: +install_dlls_host: install-dirs and no, the install-dirs dependency with the install target is not enough as the current rules say all of the dependencies of install may be executed in parallel ... order with a particular target provides no reliability as to processing order i'd check current code base, but the cvs tree is a mess and i have no idea where this package is maintained ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Earnie Boyd (earnie) Date: 2010-06-20 20:52 Message: Yes, DESTDIR is broken on Windows. You must instead use the original method supported by FSF of ``make install prefix=/some/other/directory'' is the only method supported by MinGW because of the drive letter stupidity of Windows. DESTDIR will never work on Windows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=102435&aid=3018561&group_id=2435 |
