My point is that his question certainly was not out of place on this list; it was inappropriate for the responder to put him down, as he did, as if the OP was doing something wrong. While there may well be other places the OP could have asked his question, and received an equally good answer, he *did* receive a comprehensive and accurate answer here, and rightly so. Directing a poster to go elsewhere is ok, if, and only if, you believe that this list is ill equipped to deal with his query, *and* you can direct the poster to a more appropriate forum, (which in this case, the responder neglected to do). Anyway, since the responder in this case -- thank you, Roman -- has already acknowledged that he may have misunderstood the scope of what is considered acceptable on this list, the matter seems hardly worth pursuing further. -- Regards, Keith. |
