Sorry, but I don't think that will work in the long run... for
anything complex, you probably will have to understand what is
actually going on in the background (i.e., command line programs being
run by Visual MinGW, or some other IDE) sooner or later. Even when
using Visual Studio, for any non-toy project you are likely to have to
enter "pre-build" or "post-build" steps into the IDE, which
effectively are command lines...

Not that "using the console" doesn't mean that you would have to keep
typing long compilation commands by hand all the time. Learn about
Make and Makefiles. (Or even just .bat files;)
