[Mingw-users] gcc 4?

Hi,

I just saw http://gcc.winports.org/ where gcc 4 seems to be available
for windows. That is great news, but I would like a mingw port as we
will then have an easily installed gfortran available on all
platforms. Are there any rumors about when it will be available?

That was just posted today, and I don't want to jump to a
hasty conclusion that they're distributing modified FSF code
only as binaries without providing source.

How does winports compile gcc?  Doesn't it require some sort of
environment like cygwin or msys?
