Hi, I download cross mingw packages and try to build them on RH/EL 44. When I compiled "all" packages (using build script download from MingGW's wiki web) ... I found crt2.o is missing. I did ask similar question here before and got answer from Keith Marshall who told me I should use mingw-runtime-3.9 to get crt2.o and upgrade to mingw-runtime-3.10 because 3.10 can't create crt2.o correctly. Now I get new version mingw-runtime-3.10-20060909-1 but this still fail to create crt2.o correctly. The error message of "configure" is: ... checking for i686-pc-mingw32-dlltool... i686-pc-mingw32-dlltool checking for i686-pc-mingw32-windres... i686-pc-mingw32-windres checking how to run the C preprocessor... i686-pc-mingw32-gcc -E checking for egrep... grep -E checking for working alloca.h... configure: error: Link tests are not allowed after GCC_NO_EXECUTABLES. ############################################### build-runtime310.sh: Tue Jan 9 17:07:48 CST 2007: step 'configure runtime' has Returncode 1 you possibly will wish to check config.log for details setting do_clean=0 (i.e.keep all files from now on) hit CTRL-C to abort ############################################### <ENTER> This also happen for version 3.9 ... however, if I just hit <CR> to ignore the error ... 3.9 can continue it's build process and create crt2.o (it doesn't install correctly ... I need to install by copy it manually). For version 3.10-20060909-1 ... ignore this error will not wok. It will show another error message: make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. ############################################### build-runtime310.sh: Tue Jan 9 17:07:51 CST 2007: step 'make runtime' has Returncode 2 you possibly will wish to check config.log for details setting do_clean=0 (i.e.keep all files from now on) hit CTRL-C to abort ############################################### <ENTER> and stop building anything ... Is this a known problem ? How to fix it ? Currently, I'm still using version 3.9 ... and do want to upgrade to version 3.10-20060909-1 or later version. Where can I get the latest source of mingw-runtime ? Thanks KC |
