Hi. Pidgin, unfortunately, cannot be built under Windows without the readlink utility available. In fact, it is just one single line that spoils whole build:
STAGE_DIR=`readlink -f $PIDGIN_BASE/pidgin/win32/nsis/gtk_runtime_stage`
This makes some sense in Cygwin when such utility is available, but not in MSYS. However, just putting readlink off the way works in MinGW, at least in my case where such path is always canonical. The developers are not like removing that call, so I need to deal with this on my own. I have searched for standalone versions of readlink for Windows but was unsuccessful (I'd assume it would follow NTFS symlinks or something). So before I just go writing a dummy script or something, what suggestions do you have for dealing with this? Thanks in advance.
