Hi folks,

I am new to this list and to MinGW and I hope my request is not too stupid. I was looking around for quite some time to find an answer but I could not figure it out by myself. So I hope anyone out there is able to help me with the following problem:

I was provided a DLL together with the source code that was compiled and linked using a Linux version of MinGW. Works as expected!

Now, I need to do some changes. I installed the lates windows version of MinGW and built the DLL. No warnings or errors occurred! Great! But the DLL I created seems to depend on quite a number of DLLs in the MinGW\bin folder. This is not good since I need to redistribute this DLL and I don't want to distribute all the additional libs together with my DLL or require the users to install MinGW.

The DLL compiled and linked under Linux does not depend on those libs.

I am sure there must be a (simple?) way to build the "standalone" DLL under windows as well. But I can't figure out how to achieve this.

I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Peter
