No, I am using a 32-bit Windows.
I also saw a message in archives about a problem between MSYS and the iSafer firewall I use, but the problem is the same if I exit from this firewall.

Is there a solution to obtain a more explicit message using for example a debugging tool ?

No, I found no Cygwin environment variable.
Moreover I obtain the same error when trying to use each
command in the bin directory:

Are you trying to run MSYS on a 64-bit Windows platform?

While tidying up my mailbox over the weekend, I noticed a
thread about making MSYS run on such platforms; if it isn't
set up right, you see a very similar message to this, IIRC.

You need CVS msys.bat, to work around it:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/mingw/msys/dvlpr/bin/msys.bat

Keith.
