Is /backup1 a directory on 192.168.56.101 ?
If so, what happens if you add a trailing slash after backup1 ?
rsync -t testfile.txt firstname.lastname@example.org:/backup1/

I am having trouble using rsync that is available with MinGW. My command is:
rsync -t testfile.txt email@example.com:/backup1
The result is:
<I enter my password here>
rsync: mkstemp "/.backup1.IC8E65" failed: Permission denied (13)
rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 2
3) at /usr/src/rsync/rsync-3.0.8/main.c(1052) [sender=3.0.8]
This works fine when I use cygwin. Any idea why this doesn't work under MinGW?
