Adrian –

Is /backup1 a directory on 192.168.56.101 ?

If so, what happens if you add a trailing slash after backup1 ?

   rsync -t testfile.txt adrian@192.168.56.101:/backup1/

HTH ...

-- kjh

Hi all,

I am having trouble using rsync that is available with MinGW.  My command is:

rsync -t testfile.txt adrian@192.168.56.101:/backup1

The result is:

adrian@192.168.56.101's password: <I enter my password here>
rsync: mkstemp "/.backup1.IC8E65" failed: Permission denied (13)
rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 2
3) at /usr/src/rsync/rsync-3.0.8/main.c(1052) [sender=3.0.8]

This works fine when I use cygwin.  Any idea why this doesn't work under MinGW?

Thanks,

A
