Problem: Notice that the whole window is not used.
Now even the shell thinks the window is smaller.
Something else to look at: If the window is resized with
the mouse, the geometry information seems to get to
the sceen programs (i.e. vi and less work great and the
shell is good aftwards also). Maybe the code that runs
when the window is resized with the mouse needs to be
run on startup (just guessing).
