Hi,
I'm new to this project, and I downloaded and installed it today so that I could compile a program in Windows 7. I downloaded the GUI and installed the dev package at the top of the list. I added the C:\MinGW\bin to my user Path variable. Before compiling, I used mingw32-get to obtain gcc. I then was able to execute mingw32-make and compiled my program. One of the versions required Pthreads, so I used mingw32-get to obtain that as well.
The issue is that sometime after all this was done I noticed an error from the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library when I quit the program gedit. It said that the application had requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way and that I should contact the application support.
I've been hunting through the web and noticed that this error occurred for someone using Windows XP, but I'm not aware of a cause or solution. I have uninstalled and re-installed all Microsoft Visual C++ distributables and the program gedit, but this has not fixed the problem. I am wondering if my installation of MinGW and MSYS and obtaining gcc has affected my system, but I'm unsure how to determine that. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be the problem?
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!
