#1922 Support new safe functions in C runtime

Is there any work in progress incorporating the new safe CRT functions like sprintf_s or strcpy_s (see ) into the mingw runtime/c library? If not, I would like to try this (and basic instructions would be appreciated).

I doubt this is something the MinGW developers have anything to do with. These have been defined by ISO C11 and will be implemented by glibc. MinGW will eventually port a version of glibc that implements that.

I don't think love4boobies knows what he is talking about. This will be included in the 4.1 release. The 4.1 release will happen after the 4.0 release which is near ready.

What do these version numbers refer to? Neither on sourceforge nor on there is a release history or a release plan.

I have taken over the maintenance of what used to be mingw runtime and w32api. I have combined these into one package under with the repository hosted on our SF project. The release will currently still release as mingwrt-4.0 and w32api-4.0 but at some point in the future the package will be released as itself. We have never advertised a release plan, the plan for release is usually based on an as needed basis. However, I have already begun work on 4.1 and I'm waiting on my (real job) to make some decisions before actually doing the release so that I can be around should there be any fallout.
