This forum is intended for any discussion about msgcat-x.
To explain, msgcat-x is a collection of Tcl-procedures that can be used to:
    1. extract msgcat-strings from all files in a directory
    2. convert back and forth between msgcat-format and po-format

I would be happy to provide more information but you will have to be a bit more specific.

I use gnu emacs with po-mode for my own translating. There are other editors for working with the gettext po-format as well. There are links now on the project homepage to information about gettext. You won't need to install gettext to be able to work on translations or extracting strings from your source. I would reccomend gnu emacs po-mode though, if you use emacs that is. The po-mode file po-mode.el is part of the gettext package.

msgcat-x is a tool to help Tcl developers extract messages from their code and convert it to po-format.
There are examples included in the file release on how to use the 3 procedures that are part of the msgcat-x package.

Where you looking for information from translators perspective or developers?

      /Veronica
