Hi all, this morning I've updated miktex and now I cannot use beamer with siunitx (both packages updated today). Processing %---------------- \documentclass{beamer} \usepackage{siunitx} \begin{document} \begin{frame}{First} \end{frame} \end{document} %------------------- fails showing next message Package: siunitx 2012/11/13 v2.5k A comprehensive (SI) units package ! Use of \@pr@videpackage doesn't match its definition. \beamer@ifnextcharospec #1#2->\def \reserved@a { #1}\def \reserved@b {#2}\fut... l.29 } ? x I don't know if the problem is with CTAN package versions or MikTeX versions, and I don't know what to do to go back to a useful situation. Yesterday everything worked. Could you help me? Thank you, Ignasi |

I've solved the problem installing last CTAN version of l3 packages. It seems that miktex missed their last update to CTAN and still provides versions from October. Ignasi |

The new siunitx fails in a minimal latex document: %----------- \documentclass{article} \usepackage{siunitx} \begin{document} text \end{document} %----------- The message is more helpful: ! Package siunitx Error: Support package expl3 too old.. See the siunitx package documentation for explanation. Why does Beamer not provide the same message? Hi, I have similar problem this morning at school after an update on 22-nov- deposit. A compilation of a file that is OK at home ended with error: "expl3 too old for this version of siunitx " I am not at school now so I don't have the exact log. I removed l3latex and L3Kernel with package manager and then reinstalled on the fly with same result. It was 2012.11.22 versions at school, but only 2012.10.04 versions at home where the same file still compile without any errors. I don't want to update at home since I need to prepare a lot of exams for Monday morning, so I need a working system. I remember I had already similar problem on students computer and kind Ulrike Fischer gave me the solution with the library synchronization. But this time it didn't works. I think I forget some update operation, but what? By the fact. I want to say a big MERCI for the wonderful SIUNITX that change in the best way the quality and conformity to BIPM recommendation. All the best. Pierre P.S. I am so sorry for my bad English. -----Message d'origine----- De : Joseph Wright [mailto:jos...@mo...] Envoyé : vendredi 23 novembre 2012 13:12 À : mik...@li...
