takes too long (20 or more seconds) to start. After that it starts
I thought it was a problem with TeXworks and commented in its mail list
but they told me
same happens with TeXniccenter. I've also found this behavior typesetting
from command window, so
it seems to be a problem with MikTeX and not the interfaces.
Have you seen same problem? Is it a bug or a 'new' usual behavior?
I'm using windowsxp and today updated miktex.

The first compilation updates the user database files. This 'feature'
was introduced some weeks ago in order to fix an auto-install issue.
