I've happily installed/uninstalled/installed 2.x on my Windows XP boxes
with nary a problem - until I tried to install 2.9. Tried basic net
installer, basic packages, and I consistently get a fatal failure during
install (i've snipped the following from the install log, right before
it fails). If it matters, I'm trying to install for a single user only
on a multi-user system, and I'm installing as an administrator. Problem
seems to be related to write fails to a cache of some sort. I get this
consistently - even after multiple reboot/try again cycles.
Any suggestions? Not critical at this point (since 2.8 does what I
need), but was thinking of trying out 2.9 so I didn't get too far behind
