we have a problem with the MiKTeX installation from a local package
repository. We downloaded the "total" version of MiKTeX and attempted to
install these files from a local directory. There are roughly 1200 .cab
files in it including README.TXT with the first line saying "This folder
contains the "Total MiKTeX" package set."
When running setup-2.4.1705.exe with setupwiz.opt the unattended
installation works as intended but only 96 packages are installed. This
seems to be the basic set of packages rather than a total installation.
Older versions of setup.exe do not have this problem (ok, they had a
problem with the All Users Start Menue), they install everything as
In I noticed that in SetupGlobalVars there is a case statement which
sets the package level either to essential or basic, but the total
package level seems to be missing (although TestLocalRepository can
handle COMPLETE_MIKTEX_LEGACY, i.e. complete/total installation). I
could be wrong because my C++ knowledge is not that exciting, but I
think that something is simply missing in the setup routine.
Did anyone else experience similar problems? Any solutions for this?
Otherwise I will have to use the older version of setup...
