dear miktex users, latex experts, i use tho command \newcommand{\figcaption}{\def\@captype{figure}\caption} to make possible figure numbering when i do not apply the figure environment. unfortunately my captions are typeset by normalsize fonts no matter if i use the command in, say, the environment \begin{footnotesize} My text etc. \begin{center} \includegraphics[scale=1]{Figure1.eps}\\ \figcaption{My first figure \label{Figure-1}} \end{center} etc. \end{footnotosize} what can i do to ensure that my captions be typeset with the same fontsize that the surrounding text? any help is highly appreciated. with best regards g.szeidl |

You can't use that @ in normal text. That is a reserved character for .sty and .cls files. Look for \makeatletter and \makeatother and so forth which will change the status of @. If you are getting into things at this level, you need to do a little looking around. If you do not have the LaTeX Companion, you should get it. Paul A. Well caption is trying hard to ensure that all captions are printed in the same fontsize by issuing a \normalsize command. So you would have to redefine caption, or the redefine locally normalsize: \documentclass{article} \usepackage{caption} \begin{document} \makeatother text \captionof{figure}{abc} \tiny text \captionof{figure}{abc} {\let\normalsize\relax\captionof{figure}{abc}} \end{document} -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Ulrike Fischer |
