Dear Christoph! At 16:01 18.03.2003 +0100, you wrote: >I am trying to insert a footnote in a caption of a section. The >footnotemark always appears in a new line after the heading and not at the >end of the last word of the caption This works: \section{foo \protect\footnotemark } \footnotetext{foo} LaTeX commands are either robust or fragile. Fragile commands need special care if they are part of a moving argument. \section is a moving argument. And \footnote is fragile. You may read this at NASA http://www.giss.nasa.gov/latex/fragile.html There is a special Tex-Newsgroup http://groups.google.de/groups?hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=de.comp.text.tex A great source of help is the german Latex-FAQ: http://www.dante.de/faq/de-tex-faq/html/makros3.html#78 Greets Markus |
