I *did* use the Update Wizard, initially to update dvipdfm. If you mean, why didn't I just update everything instead of just dvipdfm, the answer (incomplete as it may seem) is that my connection is via 56k modem and the only piece I had any issues with was dvipdfm (an issue concerning a minor bug). So I thought I'd just get what I needed ... When you say "nothing is missing", are you implying that a complete update would have included the DLLs listed on the issues page?? http://www.miktex.org/2.2/issues.html (That seems unlikely to me.) If not, then you are not really responding to my usability question. I would still have had to go through my exploration and bafflement concerning the advice on that page. If these DLLs were in fact included I guess the lesson to me is: always update everything, however long it takes, even though the Wizard is designed to allow incremental updates. Anyway, after addressing the issue above, I found some time where I could tie up my phone line for hours, and I basically downloaded everything. I seem to be up and running again. I'm still curious what part of it included mt22png.dll, if anyone can tell me. Cheers, Alan Isaac |
