This topic is rapidly reaching the status of a VFAQ. 1. Metapost does indeed come with MiKTeX so there's NO need to install anything by hand: if something is missing, the best solution is always to use the MiKTeX package manager. 2. However! And this is the problem! Any time you update, reinstall or do anything to metapost, you almost certainly need to perform makemem plain BY HAND (i.e., at the DOS command line) afterwards. Unfortunately, this is not obvious. I've written to Christian Schenk about it and one would hope that sooner or later the process will be properly automated. Cheers, Phil Ratcliffe P.S. The error messages one gets are not at all helpful - I was just getting a message suggesting that somethng was wrong with a specific package (feynmf), which was indeed perfectly ok and makemem plain sorted everything out. ----- Original Message ----- From: "walter a kehowski" <wke...@co...> To: <mik...@li...> Sent: Friday, January 24, 2003 4:06 AM Subject: [MiKTeX] RE: installing Metapost in MikTeX 2.2 > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Cornelius C.
