Even a manual uninstall/re-install of ifxetex doesn't fix it. Tried changing > repos, refreshing the package database. All for nought. I have the same problem too. > Suggestions? No. I tried to update the fndb, to synchronize my packages with those in the repository using the package manager and to deinstall and reinstall the package. Nothing worked. One observation though: the file which MiKTeX tries to install is ifxetex.sty, which is already installed. However, it is located at /tex/generic/ifxetex/ but the window that pops up while compiling says that it should be located at /tex/latex/ifxetex/ This directory exists indeed, but it is empty.
