[MiKTeX] Windows can't find c:\Documents

Following the direction to instal MikTex get to 1.6.2 Installation notes.  Click here to instal TexnicCenter and I receive an error message: 
Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. to search for a file click the start button and then click search. 

The second message that pops up is
Schlussel: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE|MiKTeX.org|MiKTeX\2.8\core
Wertepaar: CommonInstall = C:\Program Files\MikTex 2.8

Can you tell me how to fix this problem as I cannot install any further.
