UserConfig and UserData are user-specific directories. You can place these trees anywhere you like. But you have to make sure they are different for Anne and Bill. So if you like, you can open Anne's registry and set UserConfig=\\server\usertexmf\Anne UserData=\\server\usertexmf\Anne > Is it right - for your suggested scenario, that every user would create > his own fonst then needed? Yes, that's the recommended approach. It is possible to set up CommonConfig and CommonData on a network share. But then you have to make sure that your users can write to CommonConfig and CommonData. That's not a good thing. Don't do it. >> CommonConfig and CommonData don't make sense in a network setup. > > I would be very grateful if you would explain this. CommonConfig and CommonData are relevant if users are sharing the same computer, i.e., if you you choose "Anyone who uses this computer (all users)". |
