Hello all, during the last days I recognized some elements of the MikTEX-Installation, I personally feel not very well with, allthough in general I like MikTeX very much. I have installed the complete MikTeX, but a couple of information is still packed in cab-files (e.g. see the source-folder). That makes no sense for me: either I have the space to have a complete installation or I only do a smaller installation with the option of a package installation on-the-fly for those packages I do not need at the moment. IMO it would be better to have the possibility to decide whether to have source files in general or not. But with the decision to install those files or to do a complete MikTeX-installation all desired files should be available directly. The situation with any other part of any package (for example the package documentation) is the same: the basic decision to want to have a certain package should have the result that all files of that package are to be installed as they are provided by the author of the package. Then it is my decision later on whether to delete any part (for example a document in a language I do not need) or to have it on the disk, even if I will never use it. Thanks for comments, Ralf |
