I'm a bit thick when it comes to all this technical stuff. I don't understand
about TEX trees and different files. Telling me that they need to go in the
appropriate place is not particularly helpful!
So, I'm trying to install pst-solides3d and I have MiKTeX 2.6
I tried to install it via the browse packages thingy, but it isn't there - is
there a way to make it appear there? Some sort of voodoo magic or something?!
So next I went to CTAN and downloaded some sort of zip file thingy but now I
don't know what to do.
I have already installed pstricks, but confused as to whether there are any
other pre-requisites before attempting this whole thing.
Any help is very much appreciated.
There exists a miktex package for pst-solides3d, if your package manager
doesn't show it: Try if it work if you synchronize the repository first (menu
Support for 2.6 will end at the end of the year. Then you will no longer be
able to use the package manager. So you should until december either learn the
technical stuff or upgrade to miktex 2.8.
Thanks so much for your help. I did the syncronize thing and then uninstalled
the pstricks package and reinstalled it, then everything I was looking for
magically appeared :)
I think I will have to download MiKTeX 2.8 if I can't use the package manager
anymore - I have enough trouble working that out at the best of times!
Anyway, thanks again for your help - you're brilliant :)
