Midiki, the MITRE Dialogue Toolkit / News: Recent posts

CVS archive now active

The current developmental version of Midiki is now in CVS. This contains additional bug fixes and some functionality beyond the 0.1.3 release, and is recommended at least until I get the time to bundle up another clean release.

Version 0.1.3 released.

This release corrects bugs and adds some functionality, primarily in logging and in error detection/correction. For details of the changes, please consult the change log.

Systems built using earlier releases will need to accommodate some minor modifications in the Agent API, which were made to ensure that (1) all agents in a particular dialogue system had access to the same logger, and (2) all dialogue managers running within a single process could have independent logs.

Version 0.1.2 released

Version 0.1.2 has been released, incorporating numerous bug fixes and some enhancements to existing functionality. Previous users of Midiki are encouraged to upgrade.

There are a small number of API changes in this release, primarily dealing with agent interaction with the executive and with the lexicon support. My goal is to keep change out of the core unless absolutely necessary, and to limit changes to other classes people might depend on. It should be early enough in the distribution of Midiki that these small changes can be readily digested; I assure you they were not made frivolously.

Next release coming soon

The upcoming release, 0.1.2, fixes some additional bugs uncovered during internal dialogue system development. It also incorporates minor changes to the Agent API allowing configuration data to be passed to agents, implements the 'quit' move with an information state shutdown, and generally cleans up the startup/shutdown procedure for a Midiki DME.

If you're using Midiki, please let us know about your experiences. If you find bugs or missing features, filing a support request will greatly increase the chances of getting the functionality you want.
