FAQ:

Q: How do I add a file or folder to the hidden file system?
A: Just drop any files or folders on the open program window. It will copy anything you dropped to whatever location you currently are browsing, just like any other file browser.

Q: How do I delete file or folder from the hidden file system?
A: After you select a file or folder, a few buttons become highlighted near the top of the window. Click on the one whose tooltip is "Delete selected".

Q: How do I open file in the hidden file system?
A: Select the files you want access to for this session, then click on the highlighted button near the top of the window whose tooltip is "Unpack selected". All files ready to use will have a green check mark. Double click on any of these to open them.

Q: I can see a hidden system folder left behind after I exit the program. Is this safe?
A: Yes. The hidden system folder created by this program is used to contain the new file system. Its contents are encrypted, so there is no threat to your security.

Q: Can I change my password?
A: No. The ability to change passwords has not been available since version 1.0e. A new toolkit may be released sometime in the future that will be compatible with the newer password system.

Q: I forgot my password. Is there any way to restore my files?
A: No. It is not possible to restore files without a valid password.

Q: When will a new build of Sneaksy be released?
A: Probably never. The older format is far slower and is not fully compatible with the recent updates.

Q: I encountered a bug and/or have a suggestion for improvement. What should I do?
A: Post about it on this project's forum. I will happily reply to any questions you may have and will quickly perform any changes that are either necessary or desired by users.

If a file is not appearing in the file browser provided by µVault, then it cannot be recovered.

Just let me know how you added the file so that we can see what went wrong.

Bear in mind that this program is open source and still in the beta stage, so there may be some bugs, especially if you are using this in an environment for which it was not intended. Running this on Windows before XP or using WINE on Mac or Linux may have unknown results.

I am updating this by completely rewriting the archiving library so as to create an encrypted virtual filesystem instead of a selectively corrupted archive. I am the only one working on this so it will still take quite some time to complete, but the changes will provide a much faster and more stable system.
