This could be very interesting:

What if uVault checks before de-encrypting the folder or before encrypting and exiting the new files that were dropped directly into the uVault folder, and adds them to the list? It would make some tasks so much easier, for example, you download something on your browser, and you want to encrypt that directly, instead of grabbing the files, firing up uVault, putting those files inside of uVault manually, closing it and then deleting the non-encrypted ones... With this enhancement you could download to /path/to/uVault.exe/uVault/ the files you want, then, you fire up uVault, put it the password, and it would automatically add the new files it encountered in the uVault folder into its list of files (but never overwriting). Then you could close uVault, and all the files would be encrypted. The same if you had uVault opened when you downloaded the files. It would notice the new files and add them automatically.

This is only an idea, I though it could be a good improvement to uVault, as it's one beautiful program anyway.

That is an interesting idea. I will take it into consideration when I begin work on the next update.

With the current encryption method, the contents of the encrypted archive cannot be determined prior to decryption of the entire archive, making this not very plausible without rewriting both the archiving and encryption methods, which I intend to do anyway.

I have been working on creating a virtual disk format that will allow a program to know the contents of the archive without performing any decryption of files, allowing rudimentary access to files without needing to wait for complete decryption to occur. This may eventually lead to the functionality you mentioned here.

I have not had much time lately to work on updating the program to use the new format. However, you may see some updates within the next few months that should increase the speed of operation considerably.

I am not getting paid anything for this software, so please be patient. Progress will happen in due time.

I'm impressed with uVault, and the programmer who is behind it. When you have time, I recommend you to make a donation account, because as the program improves, it's fame will as well, and some people like me will want to donate some money to you. You'll be surprised how many people donate out there... So, if you're working on this project selflessly, some profit will only make it better.
