Microtube é um programa para linha de comando que permite reproduzir músicas do site YouTube via pseudo-streaming no cVLC ou no MPlayer. É desenvolvido em Shell Script, sob uma licença de Software Livre (GPL v3), e segue o princípio M.I.S.E. (Mantenha Isto Simples, Estúpido!). Está disponível atualmente apenas para GNU/Linux.

Microtube é gratuito e de código fonte aberto e está sob a licença GNU GPL v3, você pode modificar, distribuir e fazer o que quiser, desde que mantenha os créditos aos seus respectivos autores.
