The MixMod lib used by MicroLua is quite efficient for game makers but being able to play sound files 'after' the creation is important too. Adding codecs designed for ARM processors is possible.

The NDS can read in native the wav format in PCM8 and PCM16, she can read too the IMA ADPCM format which is a compressed WAV.
I think the ogg vorbis format in place of MP3 will be more simple to integrate to µLua.

I agree with OGG Vorbis being simpler to add (open format?), in any case any format would be appreciated ;)
