We've published a new informal ground station reference model, http://mgsn.sourceforge.net/docs/modelv0.2.0.php. It attempts to itemize core ground station hardware and services. These will then be captured in GSML. The online pages are derived from our recent IEEE Aerospace Conference paper, Ground Station Markup Language. It will be online at http://swig.stanford.edu/public/projects/satellite/ once the final draft is submitted. We expect to be publishing draft GSML specification shortly. This will be derived directly from the above model. We are seeking any feedback on the model. What additional hardware is needed? Anything we missed? Please be sure to read the paper as well. Thank you. --Jamie jw...@st... |

We've begun work on Mercury version 1.2. Documentation pages are under development to show what the work is on 1.2 (http://mgsn.sourceforge.net/docs.php). The CVS repository now contains our latest code work on 1.2. We're actively working on the process manager and enabling Mercury to perform fault detection and recovery. Once we have this working, we'll release a beta version. Thanks. --James |

We have released the next version of Mercury, 1.1.2a. It contains numerous bug fixes from 1.1.1c. Arhictecturally, it is the same as 1.1.1c. Please report any bugs at http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=64075&atid=506198. Work is under way on 1.2. We are improving process management and error recovery. Providing an "access server" for agent based interfaces to Mercury scheduling and control. And extending Mercury implementation of the GSML session level. These are just a few of the additions. Thanks. --James Cutler jw...@st... |

We're in the process of deploying a new Mercury website at http://mgsn.sourceforge.net/. The goal is to have updated documentation on system architecture, design, and implementation. Be sure to check out the latest news for documentation releases. Also, we should be realeasing the next version of Mercury, 1.1.2, in the next week. Mercury 1.2.0 is already well underway as we seek to put some fault tolerance and recovery components in the system. Thanks. --James jw...@st... |

Hello, I've released a patched version of the latest Predict release, 2.2.1. Mercury uses Predict to calculate antenna pointing angles and doppler effects for radio tuning. The current version of Predict, 2.2.1, has a bug in the way it reads data from the socket. This causes Predict to fail when using the "GET_DOPPLER" and "GET_SAT" commands via the socket interface to predict. I've made the patched version of Predict available on Mercury's Sourceforge account at: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mgsn/predict-2.2.1p0.tar.gz?download I've also notified the developers of Predict and they will be releasing it with the next version. Thanks. --James jw...@st... PS...We will be releasing mercury-1.1.2 by the end of next week with major bug fixes and updates. Hopefully the documentation will be improved as well! |
