Hi Lorenzo,
I have used your Multi File Port Montor many times, always using the HP 2700 PCL6 Class Driver (I mean the one already included in Windows XP, Vista , 7, 8 ) and always worked fine.

Now with Windows 10 I can't complete the installation, I get an Error (ID 242) with the PrintService as source. Even installing the printer on another port (for example LPT1:) and then switching on Multifile Port doesn't work. The problem is the same with all the PLC6 Class Drivers I tried

This is my workaround :

  • Install a "dummy" printer on a Windows 7 using HP 2700 PCL6 Class Driver (the port is not important)
  • Share the printer
  • Install the shared printer on the Windows 10
  • Use the driver downloaded from the Windows 7 to create a new and local printer using the Multi File Port Monitor

This is the complete error on my Italian OS:
Si è verificato un errore durante la configurazione della coda di stampa 'Multiport TEST'. Non è possibile utilizzare il driver della stampante 'HP Color LaserJet 2700 PCL6 Class Driver' insieme a un monitor di porta non predefinito.

Let me now if you need more help

Thanks in advance

For me installing a xerox driver (X-GPD_5.404.8.0_PS_x64.exe)works great. After driver installation is complete, the add printer dialog starts and you can create a new printer, with a new mfilemon port and everything works
