#37 Persistent Login - Not working in LoginPortlet

For some reason, the persistent login (meaning use a
cookie to hold the userid of the user and then populate
the login form upon return) is not working in the
LoginPortlet. I've tried several things to get the
cookie into the portlet but they are not working. The
RenderRequest does not directly support getCookies().
however, I have cast it to a RenderRequestImpl and that
does support getCookies(). The code runs fine, but the
cookie cannot be found inside the portlet.
