Hi Team, I have read the METL user guide (Copyright © 2018 JumpMind, Inc Version 3.6.1). I have deployed the downloaded war file on tomcat and its working. I have few questions regarding flow deployment and user creation. In this doc i read about to create new user and in the attached screens USER tab is available under the Admin navigation. But when i deploy the war file and check the same on my localhost User tab and deploy navigation is not available. Please help me to understand is there any...
Do you get this error with the latest version of the metl.war file? What is the command line you are running? What version of Java is installed?

I switched back to using the H2 database and was able to get it to start with all the maven errors. I updated the repo like you sugessted. Above was me trying to use SQL Server 2016. I'm still seeing a bunch of error downloading packages from maven. I'll continue to look into it. example: 2020-03-11 13:21:05,665 WARN [ qtp455659002-100] Deleting plugin that could not be loaded: org.jumpmind.metl:comp-text:3.5.1.r15 2020-03-11 13:21:05,679 INFO [ qtp455659002-100] Downloading: http://maven.jumpmind.com/repo/org/bouncycastle/bcprov-jdk15on/1.61/bcprov-jdk15on-1.61.pom...

Hi Nate, When do you get the error, on startup or after the application is running and you are trying to update a flow, model or resource? We have found there is an issue with the Maven repo Url in the published build at this time. Could you please follow the below steps and see if you still encounter the issue you are having? Start Metl using the war file. After it starts, connect via a web browser (http://localhost:42000/metl/), then select the 'Admin' tab at the top. Next choose 'Plugin Repositories'...
When I attempt to install the 3.5.3r15 version of metl, I keep getting the same error: org.jumpmind.db.sql.SqlException: Column 'metl_model_schema_object.id' is not the same data type as referencing column 'metl_model_schema_object.parent_id' in foreign key 'metl_fk_so_2_pso'. at org.jumpmind.db.sql.AbstractSqlTemplate.translate(AbstractSqlTemplate.java:302) at org.jumpmind.db.sql.AbstractSqlTemplate.translate(AbstractSqlTemplate.java:291) at org.jumpmind.db.sql.JdbcSqlTemplate.execute(JdbcSqlTemplate.java:503)...
I would probably go with a generic component which can handle a stored procedure output parameters in the same fashion as RDBMS Reader component do. That, combined with the existing components, would cover most of the cases of accessing data in a database. Groovy script can be useful only in a perticular case when we don't have a specific component to solve the problem, or when logic is simple and does not require a knowledge of Java. Many thanks!
You could make a custom component as well, there is some help in this area on the wiki. I would probably only take this route if the logic is quite complex and couldn't be handled in a script easily or if you can, create it in a fashion that is more generic accepting any procedure and maybe returning a text delimited string that you could then parse the output in another component into whatever model you know the procedure is returning. Then this component could be used over and over for any procedure...
I suppose that we can also make a custom component which can execute the procedure. Do you have a perspective on that, would the mapping of parameters be a problem and could this involve writing some ui component, too? This espacially refers to ref_cursor type. Using a script inside the workflow diagram is an universal solution for some particular problem, but it's not practical if we need to use it very often. Also it requires knowing how to write a program.
To just call a stored procedure you can use the SQL Executor (https://github.com/JumpMind/metl/wiki/sql-executor) component. However, to capture output from the procedure you'd have to do that in a Groovy Script (https://github.com/JumpMind/metl/wiki/script) component where you write the logic in groovy to run the procedure, capture the results and then build your output model you want. Could be entity or text... There are templates you could reference that might help you build this https://github.com/JumpMind/metl/wiki/script-templates#use-jdbc-to-get-id...
How do we call an SQL stored procedure in Metl? It seems that the component RDBMS Reader can only be used for sql queries, there is no way for us to map output variable of a stored procedure, and especially ref_cursor, to Model. Am I right?
You are probably getting that error because in the Advanced Edit window most likely I'm guessing the 'Path' field is not filled in with a node reference that corresponds to the parent or high-level JSON array node for which the data repeats below. Fyi, the Json Parser component is expecting the format of the Json data to be starting with an Array object. For example if your input looks like the following: {"parent": [ { "number" : "A-14", "name" : "TEST" } , { "number" : "B-22", "name" : "ANOTHER...
I think it might be having an issue finding the correct Java version. I would try a couple things. 1. Check the log files (under the logs folder where you selected to install Metl) wrapper.log, install.log and metl.log See if you find any additional errors from install or initial startup then post the error if you can't figure out how to address. 2. Make sure you are an administrator on the Windows machine you are installing on or run the install as administrator. 3. Install from a clean slate choosing the smallest memory option (Small - 256 MB). This can always be...

Hello guys, can anybody help me with Json Parser component, what the format for path should be. I am trying to provide raw json to Json Parser and want to have a model as output. But I keep receiving the error "At least one path setting must be provided."

Can you provide me a sample of the json being returned by the web service request? If you want, just turn on input and output logging for the entire flow and send me the log files. Greg W.
I am using Metl trying to read a JSON web servise into a MySql database. The Flow has three elements: <<web request="">>, <<deserializer>> and <<rdbms writer="">> Unfortunately this process runs into errors at some point. The main problem as I see it is that the DESERIALIZE step goes wrong. The log files record such messages: <<java.lang.runtimeexception: com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.jsonmappingexception:="" deserialize="" of="" java.util.arraylist="" instance="" can="" not="" start_object="" out="">>,...

Hi, I am just trying to start with mETL but after starting mETL on a windows system I am not able to connec to the mETL service. I have started it in a cmd window and installed it as a service and it seems running fine. But connecting to http://0.0.0.0:42000/metl or localhost:42000/metl gives the same error; localhost has refused the connecton. Anyting else to check? (NB: firewalls are turned off!!!)
