Metalinks is a project to facilitate data distribution over mirrors and P2P networks. It does so by defining an XML format and the tools to handle these. The metalink files contain all the information needed to download and verify files.

Metalink should be the default link method in the future for all downloads.

Seems orphaned if not please merge this patch : 718be1d41cb1388395edb9aefa6ec9460dd61ca7.patch I am maintaining a debian branch on github since it was removed from distro : mail me rzr gna org
